What's Trending in My World This Week

I am so addicted to Streaming Netflix..it's awesome..tons of movies, tv shows and documentaries you can pull up at any time! It's not every movie but the list is getting bigger and you can find all kinds of movies to watch. Here's some of my recent favorites:

30 on 30 The Price of Gold (Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan story)-ok first of all, everyone quit saying it was 20 years ago. It feels like 10 (it really is 20, I am getting old). I was obsessed with this during the 94 Olympics and very much Team Nancy back in the day. Hated Tonya. Now 20 years later, Nancy seems whiny and annoying and Tonya is rough but interesting and a dynamic skater (the triple axle was awesome!) Very good to watch (this was made recently with recent interviews with Tonya) esp during the Olympics.

I Hate Valentine's Day-the girl and guy from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" team up for another movie (as different charaters of course). This time, the girl (who I am forgetting her name-Nia Varodlous?) is really thin and basically has a rule where she just dates guys for five dates and then moves on (No, it is NOT about s-e-x, it is about romance, just dates. She does this to prevent getting hurt). She is a florist and she meets John Corbett the new restaurant owner down the street. This is really cute, esp with Valentine's Day coming up.

Lee Daniels' The Butler-NOT on Streaming netflix, but is avail on their dvd-I had to put this one on my list, because it was excellent!! Forest Whitaker did a great job portraying a White House butler over a 30 year plus span. I am not an Oprah person, but she also did a great job as his wife. It covers a lot of adminstrations including Reagan, Obama, Kennedy, Nixon and more and a lot of stars are in this-Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Cuba Gooding Jr, James Marshden, John Cusack and more.  It is very historical and just a really good movie. I did watch this one over two nights (long).

Butter-Jennifer Garner as a competitve wife of a butter carver is a campy funny movie about a butter carving contest. Good indie film

Soapdish-I had never seen this and I love soaps--Sally Field, Robert Downey Jr, Elisabeth Shue, and more in a movie set on a soap set and their lives get very soapish as well. It's very funny. Made around 1991.

Don't Trust the B in Apt 23!-this is a really funny, mindless show about two roomates-one an innocent girl from the Midwest, the other is the "B"--very manipulative. They get into some funny scrapes and learn from each other as well. James Van Der Beek is hilarious playing a fictional version of himself. Only lasted about 20 eps so you can get through it kind of fast. Very funny!

Bronies-a documentary on the phenomnen of adult guys liking the cartoon "My Little Pony-Friendship is Forever".  It kind of makes me want to watch the cartoon to see what is so great about it. It is pretty intersesting.
